question is, if the minions are supposed to die anyway, why heal them ?
you can use the slot for another protection/interruption skill.

For your healer; minions are 8-10 walking expendable tanks that can all absorb damage and bodyblock mobs.
Each second you can keep them alive longer, is a second less stress on your healer's energy pool.

As well, minions deal damage while alive. So if you can keep them alive longer, they deal more damage bringing the mobs down faster. Especially if you run Sabway (or a variant thereoff) with barbs and ebon standard of honor you are easily looking at 20-30 more damage/hit for each single minion if you use it properly.

Then there's the energy aspect; necros can only get energy 3x every 15 seconds, so if they live longer more will survive it till the 2nd or even 3rd round for much higher energy return on your other necro's.

Finally there's movement; if the next group is far away and your minions wont survive the walk then there wouldnt be any use in bringing a MM. With a MM you want the largest army BEFORE the fight and resummon what you've lost during/afterward.

Its almost one of the more important skills in their bars (cause minions themselfs are ofc the most important).

keeping them alive between battles. they die easy as is. having this skill helps keep them alive long enough to bomb youre way through the next group without having most of them die off on the way there.

If you are running a MM hero, I would disable BotM and cast it manually. Sometimes I run builds where all 3 necros can summon minions, so the minion count can reach an absurd amount. So one mistimed cast of BotM will lead to instant death. There was countless times where my Livia would cast it right before getting nailed in the face with a [penetrating attack], leaving her laied out on the ground, bleeding profusely.

No BoTM is a wasted skill slot on a MM bomber use a more useful skill such as Feast for the Dead for better synergy, Taste Kills A Minion, Heals Minions, and if it hits the right target can make a Jagged so you really don't lose a minion at all.

My MM set is

Jagged Bones, Animate Bone Minions, Death Nova, Dwayna's Sorrow,Feast for the Dead, Cure Hex, Death Pact Signet

and I can't remember the 8th skill off the top of my head most likely another utility skill.

I ran Putrid Flesh for a bit and it seemed as if the guy didn't even bother with it.

Yes with one of the recent AI updates heros run Sorrow and Feast, Taste Right.

As for your second statement there is 7 skills out of 8 listed there so maybe you should learn some basic counting, Sesame Street can teach you those. 1 bat ha ha ha, 2 bats ha ha ha, 3; 3 Bats Ha ha ha.

They do use putrid flesh also, but I stopped using it after vanquishing kurzick areas: they kept on using it against luxons, resulting in my team being deseased.

Woops still listed 7 out 8 skills was thinking of the SS and Healer.

at 6am est, and just got off work and been up for 17 hours and no game to consult do to maintenance Death Pact Sig = Restore Life

Servers are back up the official 8th skill is Signet of Lost Souls there's the right signet.

If I have the room and there's nothing better to equip (nothing like bombs that stay until used), I will. In terms of a hero, I would disable BotM when entering combat.

Use Blood of the Master to keep your minions alive outside of battle. When using it on a hero, disable it as you're entering battle.

I dont use jagged any more,but when i do i dont use BoTM.

I prefer Putrid Bile,no real reason for BoTM.
